Adidas Conductor Hi Winterized Pack

I just came across two more versions of the Conductor Hi tonight, both part of the Adidas Fall 2009 Winterized Pack. The main difference with these two new releases are that they're made of wool, to keep your feet toasty in the cold weather. I particularly love the combination of the black and orange (red) colorway with the subtle saw-toothed pattern.

"While it was originally slated as a basketball shoe, the fall 2009 releases are done in wool with a herringbone checker. Coming in two different colorways; black/red, tan/dark green, they are sure to please. The tan Conductors immediately caught my eye with the wool resembling the all too popular flannel print that was big last year."

Adidas Conductor Hi Consortium

Adidas puts out another new version of the classic Conductor Hi with their Consortium Spring 2009 collection. I came across these today while digging through all the past reincarnations of the Conductor Hi. The shoe is mostly all white, with some bright (originals) blue touches on the top eyelets and the large trefoil logo on the heel. You gotta love the pink/green/grey color pattern they've used on the three stripes and parts of the sole; quite different than the typical solid colors that we're used to seeing on the Conductor Hi. The bottom lace is equipped with a jewel that also sports the same color pattern as the three stripes, with the usual Adidas trefoil logo in the center, colored the same bright (originals) blue as the eyelets and heel logo. Not sure I'd rock these myself, but I'd totally buy a pair for my girl!

"Also, included in the Adidas Consortium Spring 2009 line up is a crazy stripe Superstar, graphic print Micropacer, striped Stan Smith, and a twisted Patrick Ewing Conductor Hi with graphic detailing. Each sneaker is stamped with the consortium top eyelet in orignals blue."

Adidas x Def Jam: Redman Superstar & Forum Mid

I came across another two shoes from the Adidas x Def Jam collection today, the new Superstar and the new Forum Mid from Redman.

"The Superstar comes with a red suede upper and black details, as well as a speckled sole. The Forum Mid comes in white/blue/red with gold accents."

Adidas Conductor Olympic

The Conductor Olympic is - in my opinion - the best remake of the Adidas Conductor. The mostly black shoe with a hint of the Olympic colors on the side looks slick. There is also a gold Olympic Torch on the tongue of the shoe that forms the usual Adidas trefoil symbol.

I saw this shoe for the first time today while looking for photos of the green and orange version I bought in February. There are actually many different remakes of the Adidas Conductor, including another (newer) Olympic version.

"Back in ‘86 these shoes were the signature shoe for the young Patrick Ewing. In fact, the official name for these shoes were the Adidas Ewing Conductor, a beefed up version of the Adidas Ewing Rivalry."

Adidas x Def Jam: Young Jeezy Forum Mid RS

The Forum Mid RS Def Jam - a new arrival priced at $100 - is definitely going on my wishlist. I love the simple color combo and the subtle gold signature on the side. Supposedly they come with gold tipped laces too!

"Soul Survivor to Sole Survivor, Young Jeezy steps out with his very own signature Forum Mid RS Def Jam kicks. These shoes feature a classic execution of the basketball icon, highlighted with a vivid color combo, gold-tipped laces, and Jeezy’s initials."

Adidas Conductor Hi Green/Black/Yellow/White Remake

The Conductor Hi remake in green, black, yellow, and white is one of my favorite versions of this shoe. I definitely made sure to grab a pair at the Adidas Originals Berkeley store in California. These shoes were made for basketball but they work great for freestyle dancing; tons of ankle support, the shoe-box allows easy toe stands and tips, and the high top is made to allow the tongue to ride on the outside adding to the retro style of the shoe.

"I’m sure back in 79 when Adidas launched the Conductor Hi they had no idea that retros would be all the rage... Also of interest is the textured patent material used for the heel of the shoe."

Einzigartig Adidas

Einzigartig Adidas? You're probably wondering 'what does this mean'?

In the German language, einzigartig is a word that describes the inimitable, singular, unique, unrivaled, or one-of-a-kind. In every language, Adidas is the name of the second biggest sportswear manufacturer in the world.

At some point in my life I became deeply, and lovingly obsessed with this brand. I can't recall exactly when it happened, nor can I explain precisely why I developed such loyalty for Adidas. Regardless, I can't live without my Campus 80's or my Stan Smith's, my Super Skate's or my Superstar's, my Top Ten's or my Bucktown's, my Forum's, my Conductor's, or even my Adidas socks.

This blog will be a tribute to the Adidas brand, a place for me to post my findings and feelings about their past, present, and future product releases.

Einzigartig Adidas!
